Stephen Carter, MD, FAAFP, FIAIME, DABFM, DABUCM, DABOM, CMRO, is a family medicine physician, obesity medicine specialist, and cardiometabolic health physician at Carter Cardiometabolic Health and Wellness Center in Cibolo, Texas. He’s practiced as a family physician for nearly three decades.
Dr. Carter received his bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He completed his training with two residencies at Ravenswood Hospital Medical Center in the North Center area of Chicago. Dr. Carter also served as a staff physician in the United States Air Force.
He maintains his advanced credentials with continuing education. Dr. Carter is board certified in obesity medicine, family medicine, and urgent care medicine. He’s a member of numerous professional organizations, including the International Academy of Independent Medical Evaluators (IAIME), American Academy of Urgent Care Medicine, American College of Emergency Physicians, and American Medical Association.
Dr. Carter was elected to the IAIME Board of Directors and received the American Medical Association Physician Recognition Award numerous years.
He’s affiliated with Baptist Emergency Hospital, Christus Santa Rosa Westover Hills, and Hill Country Memorial Hospital, all in Texas.
